The seasonal guide
Restyle a room in an afternoon
You don't need to redecorate to feel a change of season. A few considered pieces, swapped in and out, do the work. Here's how we approach it — and the kits that make it simple.
The method
01
Start with one surface
A console, a coffee table, a mantel. Clear it, then build back up with three heights — a vase, a candle, a small object.
02
Shift the palette, not the furniture
Swap textiles and accents to the season's tones. Warm ambers in autumn, cool blues in summer. The room changes; the budget doesn't.
03
Layer light
Candlelight in the evening, daylight by the window. A single candle changes the whole mood of a room after dark.
04
Edit, then add
Take one thing away for every two you add. Negative space is what makes a styled room feel calm, not cluttered.
